Trà is by far the most cunsumed beverage in Vietnam. It is served both hot(Tra Nam) and iced (Tra Da). Vietnamese tea is very different from the tea you drink in the West. The loose tea leaves are steeped in a small teapot and then served inn tiny tea cups.

The green tea is most often drunk in the countryside and for the cities the people drink black tea. Tra is so ingrained in the culture, it is simply second nature. If you stop into a shop to inquire about renting a motorbike, you will likely be invited to sit and have a cup to tea. Or if you stop into a friend's house, you will see them bring tea for you after dinner.
